Henkel Adhesive Technologies is launching Loctite Liofol LA 7837/LA 6265, a solvent-free, aliphatic adhesive system that is tailored for applications involving high thermal stresses – in particular retort packaging for pet food, for example. The system combines the highest level of food safety with reliable processing and also helps to reduce CO₂ emissions by lowering material consumption and eliminating the need for an energy-intensive drying step, which is required for products containing solvents.

For most of its Bref toilet rim blocks in Europe, Henkel now supports the usage of renewable raw materials. The company uses materials that are partially based on renewable raw materials for both the production of cleaning balls and the rim block cages, according to the so-called mass balance approach. This involves replacing a certain amount of fossil raw materials with renewable raw materials at the start of the manufacturing process. The quantity of renewable raw materials is then allocated to specific products using a certified calculation method.

Loctite 55 pipe sealant has been honored with two Red Dot Awards 2025 in the categories of ‘Product Design’ and ‘Sustainable Design’. Henkel received this prestigious recognition for the robust and convenient design as well as for the sustainability improvements of the packaging of the 160m pack for its leading thread sealant cord. Loctite 55 has already been granted with the German Packaging Award 2024 followed by the WorldStar Global Packaging Award earlier this year.
